I’m sure you will have seen the recent media coverage with reports that the government might be planning to limit Education, Health and Care Plans in mainstream schools.
As the Disabled Children’s Partnership, we will not stand by and let the children and young people we campaign for navigate their education with fewer legal protections.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Hannah, a disabled young person in sharing an open letter for campaigners, that we urge you to sign before we hand it into the Downing Street in early July.
The full letter (which you can find below), will be shared with the Prime Minister alongside the thousands of signatures we hope to get to accompany it. This is a campaigner action with a very short lifespan, and so we hope you’ll join us in calling for the PM to change his mind on the planned reduction of EHC plans and to meet with Hannah in the coming months.
As Hannah says, “We’re not asking for anything ‘special’. We just want the ordinary things all young people want.”
Stand alongside Hannah, and the thousands of other disabled young people that rely on an EHC plan to get the most out of their education.
